Fifty-three ships transited the Suez Canal on Wednesday, with a total cargo of 2.9 million tons.

The south-bound convoy included 23 vessels carrying 1.2 million tons, while the north-bound convoy included 30 ships carrying 1.7 million tons, according to a statement issued by the Suez Canal Authority.
