Unemployment and youth in Jordan

The unemployment rate in Jordan for the third quarter of 2014 stood at 11.4 percent, according to the Department of Statistics.
It said that unemployment among men was 9.2 percent while it soared to the high of 22 percent among women.
According to a statement issued by the department on Saturday, the third quarter unemployment rate was down by 0.6 percent from the second quarter, due to employment policies adopted by the public and private sectors that offered more jobs to Jordanians in the labour market.
The statistics showed that joblessness was especially higher among bachelor degree holders, standing at 17.9 percent, compared with others possessing different educational qualifications.
