Saudi Arabia: Taxes on Tobacco products, energy drinks, carbonated beverages

Saudi Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has approved two types of taxes, namely: value-added tax, and selective taxes on harmful goods.

    Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that during a discussion of the subject of taxes on the eve of the press conference held Tuesday evening in Jeddah to highlight the national transformation program 2020, he said that there is a discussion to gradually work to apply the surcharge on tobacco products as well as energy drinks, and carbonated beverages.
