Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab held on Saturday evening a meeting to review plans to develop Port Said city within trade, industrial and tourism fields.
The meeting was attended by trade, industry and finance ministers and Port Said governor as well as a number of the city's merchants, Cabinet Spokesman Hossam el Qawish said.
During the meeting, Mahlab said the government is doing its best to develop Port Said and turn it into an international trade hub that will provide more job opportunities for youths.
He directed the governor to present a development plan that aims to turn the coastal city into an international trade, industry and service hub.
He also ordered a 25% reduction over fees imposed on imported goods in the city.
During the meeting, the premier directed to allocate 200 million pounds from the budget of 2015-2016 fiscal year to development projects in Port Said.
