Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain the Jewellery Arabia 2014 will kick off tomorrow at the International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC) from 18 to 22 November 2014.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority Dr. Hassan Abdullah Fakhro, praised the constant support and kind patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister to the Arabian Jewelry Show since it was launched in the year 1992, affirming the leadership's and the government's keen interest in attracting international specialised exhibitions, and harness all the possibilities for the development of tourism, which has become regional and global competition field.
The 23rd series of Jewellery Arabia, as in the past, will showcase world famous names on finished jewellery, luxury timepieces, precious stones, antiques and art masterpieces, jewellery packaging and technology from across the globe.
More than 600 exhibitors from 30 nations, including high profile international jewellery and watch brands, will display their precious collection to be led by Bahrain’s leading jewelers across an area of 16,000 square metres. The Jewellery Arabia 2014 will feature large national groups from Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Singapore, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
The five-day spectacular is expected to attract over 48,000 visitors from inside and outside Bahrain this year.
Dr. Hassan Fakhro said that the show is an annual event organised at BIECC which remarkably contributes to the activation of exhibitions tourism, boosts economic and commercial activities, contributes into developing the sector of jewelry industry and reflects the Bahraini ancient heritage in view of its teeming history in terms of natural pearls extraction, its strategic location as the destination of merchants and professionals from the region’s countries throughout the ages.
He highlighted Bahrain provision of incentives and facilities to support investors, including legislation and laws to protect investments and facilitate the movement of import and export.
Ministry of Industry and Commerce will support Jewellery Arabia 2014, through the provision of guarantee to buyers by examining their purchases of gold, jewellery, natural pearls and precious stones, control industrial designs and protect trademarks registered in the Kingdom of Bahrain or the world-renowned through the presence of the Gem and Pearl Testing Laboratory of Bahrain (GPTLB) and he Directorate of industrial Property (DlP) at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce throughout the exhibition's five days.
Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority (BECA) announced that tents will erected outside BIECC in order to provide an adequate space for all the exhibitors registered on the list of bookings, which expands the total area to about 18 thousand square metres.
