A view of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)


The second meeting of the bloc of the African governors at the group of World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) (African Caucus) continued holding of its sittings at the Friendship Hall Wednesday afternoon.
The taskforce of the World Bank group on energy presented a report on the progress of work at the projects of priority in a number of African countries in the field of electric power including Cameron, Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Kenya.
The report touched on the position of project implementation and the timetables on their implementation, revealing development of achievement and the impediments faced the implementation.
The Task Force of the World Bank Group on Agriculture presented a report on the progress of work in the projects of priority to address the decline in agricultural production in African countries including Kandajy project for the development of water resources of the Niger Basin, the management of sustainable ecosystems and the multi-purpose project for the development of water at Senegal River Basin.
The report also touched on the project on facilitation of the transit through the countries in the Economic and Monetary Community of the Central Africa, providing support to the project of Shari Valley irrigation and the investment project in the southern channel for agricultural development in Tanzania.
The reports received extensive discussion from the conferees, calling for completion of the said projects in the exact time for the peoples of the continent enjoy the fruits.
