The drilling of the new Suez Canal reached to 250 million cubic meters until now, said a statement issued by the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and obtained by MENA.
The project is implemented under the supervision of the Armed Forces. While launching the project, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said it would be completed within a year, instead of a previous deadline of three years.
Sisi receives daily reports to check on work progress in the ambitious project.
