A top commander of the notorious Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels, wanted by the International Criminal Court, has been handed over to Uganda by US forces, Uganda's defence minister said Thursday.
LRA commander Dominic Ongwen, who faces trial at the ICC for crimes against humanity and war crimes, "is with our forces" in the Central African Republic, Ugandan defence minister Crispus Kiyonga told AFP. He did not confirm if Uganda wanted to try Ongwen in Kampala, or would send him to the ICC.
