Egypt's Reda folk

Egypt's Reda folk dancing troupe left Beijing on Friday to the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.

On Wednesday, the band presented an outstanding show at the Opera House of National Grand Theatre Beijing within the framework of the 2016 Sino-Egyptian Culture Year.

Egyptian Ambassador in Beijing Magdy Amer and Arab League Ambassador to China Ghanem Shebly attended the event along with Arab and foreign diplomats, Chinese cultural and media figures and members of the Egyptian community.

The 27-strong troupe came to Beijing to present four dance shows in Chinese theaters, its director told MENA.

Reda troupe was founded by the Reda brothers in 1959 and it consisted of only twelve dancers and twelve musicians. Reda's choreography combined traditional Egyptian folk dances with Western styles like ballet
