Street Painting Festival is the most popular painting festival around the world, in which participating young artists make the main square of their city looks completely different. In 1972 the first international street painting festival was held in Grazie di Curtatone, Italy, and modeled on the Italian painters \"Madonnare\" - who, until World War II, traveling through Italy on the sidewalks of cities painted religious figures, like the Virgin Mary. Sarajevo Beton Fest (\"beton\" means \"concrete\" in English) was happening in the last weekend in August. This is the 2nd season of the Festival. Zlatko Sljivnjak, founder and director of the Festival, said, \"Our festival is the only one in the region of Balkan so far. I know we are now just young guys and full of enthusiasm, but in a couple of years I am sure we\'ll improve our festival - so it will become distinguished and recognizable festival in a world of street art painting.\"
