The Cuban capital of Havana is slated to hold an Iranian film festival in an attempt to introduce Persian culture and the Iranian cinema. The event will open with Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning movie Nader and Simin: A Separation. Farhadi’s production won the Oscar for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards. It was also nominated for the Best Original Screenplay Oscar that went to Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. Havana’s Iranian Film Festival will be held from April 9 to 16, 2012.
