You're going to have to take a stand about an ethical matter. Although you can see differing points of view, you have firm convictions which should be settled. If a loved one has been hurting others with their inconsiderate behaviour, speak up. While it's true they've experienced some terrible setbacks, that's no excuse for lashing out. Keep this troublemaker at arm's length until they decide to apologise and clean up their act. You simply can't be neutral in this situation.
