"Constantine, Capital of Arab Culture 2015" is a flagship event which will highlight not just the region’s history but that of entire Algeria, Minister of Culture Khalida Toumi said Sunday in Constantine. "There will be bimonthly meetings on the progress of the projects launched as part of this event," which will highlight "not just the region’s history but that of the entire Algeria," the minister said during a meeting dedicated to preparations of this big cultural event. Khalida Toumi also underlined that President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika is closely "following" the programmes and projects launched in anticipation of this major cultural event. while pointing out "the importance of an impeccable quality in all achievements initiated as part of this event, Toumi explained that the national agency for the management of the construction of big cultural projects (ANGRGC), through its architects specializing in cultural infrastructures, notably museums, "will assist the follow-up and facilitating committee, chaired by Constantine’s Governor to ensure the quality and standards of those projects," she added. The sites of this cultural event comprise 15 achievements in total, including a performance hall of 3,000 seats, an exhibition center, an urban library and art and history museum.
