An attempt to smuggle tobacco and alcohol hidden in a bus was foiled by police, the ROP announced.

The Buraimi Governorate Customs Department managed to stop the bus carrying tobacco and alcoholic beverages as the driver attempted to enter the Sultanate. 

An official source at the Royal Oman Police said more than 25 kilograms of chewing tobacco and a bottle of alcohol were found hidden in the side of the bus.

The items were seized and the accused was taken to the prosecution for investigation.
