A police officer was killed and two conscripts were injured early on Thursday when a bomb exploded on the Arish-Ismailia road.

A media official at the Interior Ministry said the roadside bomb was planted by unidentified men.

The injured were carried to hospital for treatment, he said.

Search is underway for perpetrators of the attack, the official added.

All legal procedures were taken, he noted.
