Canadian Minister of Immigration Ahmed Hussein

Canadian Minister of Immigration Ahmed Hussein revealed that the decision accelerate the measures to accept Egyptian refugess was taken by the Immigration and Refugees Council not from the government, saying that the council is considered an independent authority. He stressed that the decision has no relation with the security situation witnessed in Egypt.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that Canadian government turned to change its policies related to the immigration to support the international students who aspire to join the country’s universities. He stressed that they work to exchange educational experiences with different countries in all over the world.
He stressed the efforts exerted by the Canadian government to provide the immigrants with the opportunity to find job opportunities, saying that they join training and linguistic courses to be able to deal with the new community. He stressed that they work to develop their skill to meet the demands of employers.
He said that there will be an announcement about launching a Canadian school in Egypt. The establishment of University of Canada in Egypt (UCE) will be done through partnership agreements with several higher education institutions in Canada, including the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.
He added that the collaborations would guarantee offering multiple academic programs and postgraduate level programs at the University of Canada in Egypt (UCE). He stressed the need for the private sector to form genuine partnerships that offer more than mere philanthropy, saying that mobile phone companies can serve as a bridge between the private and public sectors and refugees.
He added, “In Canada, we think we can absolutely maintain the services and well-being of Canadians while doing our humanitarian role towards the refugees. We do not perceive refugees as a burden.”
