Shaikh Nasser attends BRAVE International Combat Week

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, followed part of the 9th BRAVE competitions, where he followed (15) bouts between different fighters for the title.


His Highness listened to a detailed explanation of the laws and regulations of the championship, the weight divisions participating in the tournament, and the most important fighters and their potential to win, where he expressed his great admiration for the levels provided by fighters in the bouts.

HH Shaikh Nasser was welcomed by His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al-Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Kerrith Brown, President of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation, and Mr, Abdul-Rahman Sadiq Askar, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

 

Khalid bin Hamad hails leadership’s support


His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, Honorary Chairman of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee for the BRAVE International Combat Week and the 4th edition of the Mixed Martial Arts World Championship, assured that Saturday is a historic day in the tournament, especially since all final bouts for all weight divisions will be held to determine the champion of amateur mixed martial arts.

His Highness said: "Today is the gain day for amateurs, for all hardworking people who have made great efforts to prepare this strong championship in all respects, we hope to see strong and exciting matches that rise to the level of ambitions satisfying all members of the sport of mixed martial arts."

"We have two fighters in the finals, Hamza Mohammadov and Murtadha Talha Ali, and we hope that they will achieve the title. They have the strength, courage, technical, physical skills, and a long history of achievements. We have great confidence in them to achieve a positive result".


World Fighting Unified

Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa said at the of the end of the general assembly in the Kingdom of Bahrain: "The great success achieved by the Kingdom in embracing the International Congress is one of the fruits of the kind care we received from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, the Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister".

"We thank His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee for his support to host the meeting of the General Assembly of the International Federation and the World Amateur Championship".

he added: "The congressional assembly came out with a number of important and historic decisions, most notably the mandate of the federations under the banner of the International Union of Mixed Martial Arts in order to negotiate with the World Mixed Martial Arts Federation, in order to complete the merger of the two to Join the International Olympic Committee and introduce mixed martial arts into the Olympic Games". He hoped that the decisions made by the International Federation's Congress in Bahrain will be positively reflected on the development of mixed martial arts.

 

Brave bouts in the BRAVE Championship

Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa said in a statement regarding hosting the 9th edition of the BRAVE International Combat Week: "The follower of the course of the tournament is very aware that the Bahrain version is the best in all aspects. Bahrain highlighted the great levels of play presented by the fighters from different countries".

He also added: "The sport of martial arts has proved to be progressing in a gradual process towards development thanks to the unified work of all international federations and fighters who are exerting great efforts to develop their technical and physical levels."

His Highness expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the tournament, in which the fighters presented great levels of excellence.

The tournament was attended by a number of dignitaries and officials, and ambassadors.

 

Shaikh Khalid’s sons attend the BRAVE championship.


On Friday, Khalifa City Stadium witnessed the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa's sons, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Hamad Al-Khalifa made sure to encourage the players in the bouts, following the championship with their father His Highness Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

 


The International Federation requests authorisation to merge with the World Mixed Martial Arts Organization

The Golden Tulip hosted yesterday the General Assembly of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation on the sidelines of the Bahrain World Mixed Martial Arts Championship. The President of the International Federation, Kerrith Brown, praised the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

Al-Khayat also delivered a speech welcoming hosting the General Assembly on the sidelines of the World Amateur Championships, noting that the game is attracting viewers in different countries of the world.

Colonel Khalid Al-Khayat and Omar Bukamal began to honor the participating delegations and the mynextmatch.com website with commemorative shields.

The congress started with the CEO of the International Federation, Denzin White, with a simple explanation of the paragraphs and rules of the meeting, after that, the President of the International Federation Kerrith Brown talked about the financial affairs and events to be organized.

The assembly refused to merge with the World Mixed Martial Arts Federation until 2019 because members of the board of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation are elected until that year, after that the Federation will discuss its coordination with the World Mixed Martial Arts Federation.

The delegate of Russia asked for help, saying that they had some problems, including the presence of two parties in Russia representing the mixed martial arts game. The Czech delegate also had the same problem.

The representative of the International Federation replied that negotiations would only take place with the consent of the members of the Federation to integrate with the World Federation, noting the need to merge with the World Federation to apply for the International Olympic Committee. He reiterated his request to delegate members to negotiate without taking any decision, indicating that the decision will be for member Federation.

 

Short film about the Kingdom

Bahraini champion Hamza Al-Kooheji, who managed to defeat his Indian rival Mohammed Farhad in the Rooster weight division in the most important victory anticipated by the fans of the championship,.

The Bahraini champion Al-Kooheji was able to read his opponent correctly from the beginning and discover the weaknesses and exploit them until he managed to control the course of the bout to defeat the Indian fighter Farhad.

Russian Akram defeated South African Jeremy in the Middleweight division, and Brazilian Michelle was defeated by Italian France in the Rooster weight division.

Egyptian Ahmed Amir defeated Swede Eric in the Lightweight division, and Brazilian Philippi defeated Jordanian Noras in the Rooster weight division.
