The Colorado Rapids took advantage of some ill discipline from FC Dallas, claiming a 2-0 win on Sunday as their opponents played nearly an hour with nine men. Daniel Hernandez picked up a second yellow card for a late tackle after 34 minutes, then Blas Perez followed suit two minutes later with a straight red for a high challenge. The nine men held out until the 61st minute, when Jaime Castrillon took advantage of the spaces to nod home from close range, then Martin Rivero was given too much time in the Dallas box to stroke home a second in the 74th minute. The result leaves the Rapids fifth in the Western Conference, seven points behind leaders San Jose and three points ahead of Dallas.
