Last year, foreign currency assets rose by $1.63bn Beirut – Georges Chahine The Lebanese Central Bank’s foreign currency assets have seen a $1.99bn increase from the beginning of 2012 to December 15. A periodical report released by the bank also shows that the assets rose from $35.657bn at the end of November to $35.683bn in mid-December, with an increase of $26m. The assets had risen by $435.2m in November and by $56.1m in December, having fallen by $174.35m in September. In 2011, the foreign currency assets rose by $1.63bn, reaching $32.236bn after falling to $30.603bn.
