Algerian artist, Somaya Bou Anany

The Algerian artist, Somaya Bou Anany, invented a distinctive and unique way of painting on tissue paper, and her creativity is not limited to only this, but she designed exquisite works for decor.

Bou Anany said, in interview with Arabs Today, that she was a teacher in experimental sciences in secondary school, but after her retirement, she decided to develop her talent in painting on glass and some new techniques in dyeing, then she moved to paint on pottery and the tissue paper, adding her special touch on this craft.

"I buy the handkerchiefs from Spain, and also used the "rice" paper in painting, and it is available in all states but it is too expensive," the artist said. "I paint on these papers and add some of the techniques and she added adhesives to paste it, and this substance called vernis colle," she added.
 
Regarding her artifacts , the Algerian artist explained that she does not like the traditional things, but she loves the colors "couleurs claires pastel", and today she seeks to develop her talent for drawing on the paintings
