A man from Greater Manchester who stabbed himself and was then Tasered by police has died. Officers were called to Salford Road in Over Hulton, Bolton, after receiving reports that a man had barricaded himself in his home with a knife. They broke into the house and were threatened by the man, who had stab wounds to his stomach, and Tasered him, a police spokesman said. The 53-year-old was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards. A post-mortem investigation is due to be carried out later. Greater Manchester Police\'s professional standards branch is investigating and the force is due to make a referral to the Independent Police Complaints Commission later.
