There was plenty happening in the Sultanate of Oman in the past week that made headlines. Here's a recap of some of them, from the Times of Oman:

Eight-year-old schoolgirlafter she complained of stomach pain and had vomitted three times at her school, Indian School Seeb, but wasn't treated at a hospital in time to save her life. Her parents thought they could wait a few weeks to treat her in India during the holidays, but were tragically wrong.

A new shopping mall,that will not only have 250 shops, ten modern cinema halls, 20 diversified restaurants and 3,000 car parking space — all spread over 147,000 square metres at Al Khoud — but also promises to be the Middle East's 'first ec-friendly mall'.
 

Indian School Muscat (ISM) also announced that it willthat starts later this month, the school authorities said on Tuesday

and saw thunder and dust storms on Thursday, with the Public Authority for Civil Aviation saying that the rains could continue over the weekend as well.
