A Serbian military aircraft on a training flight crashed in a residential neighborhood north of Belgrade Wednesday, killing one of the pilots, said authorities. The other pilot didn\'t sustain serious injuries and no one on the ground was hurt, broadcast station B92 reported. The plane went down between two structures and crashed in the yard of a private home, said Dorde Radinovic, president of the municipality of Nova Pazova where the crash occurred. He praised the pilot who lost his life, Maj. Goran Savic, for the fact that no one in the neighborhood was injured. \"One pilot ejected, while the other made an effort until the last moment (before ejecting) not to hit a house in this residential area. Once the plane stopped there was no explosion either,\" Radinovic said. The surviving pilot, Tomislav Begovic, said the crash was most likely caused by malfunctioning controls, said army chief Lt. Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic. Savic was flying the V-54 Lasta in an examination to get his test pilot\'s license, Dikovic said.
