Two people have died in rain and snowstorms in northern Spain, dpa cited officials said Sunday.
A male skier died in an avalanche following heavy snowfall in the Pyrenean winter sport resort of Candanchu. Spanish rescue authorities reported on Sunday that they had found his body.
A second skier was pulled alive from the snow on Saturday, they said.
Both men had been skiing down a run that had been closed owing to the risk of avalanches.
In the Navarre region, a 70-year-old man drowned when the delivery truck he was driving was washed away after the river Odron burst its banks, the official RNE broadcaster reported on Sunday.
A train derailed in a landslide near the city of Bilbao in the Basque Country. The 30 passengers on board suffered shock, but were otherwise unharmed, the report said.
