Blast in Turkey's Van hits area between AKP HQ and Governor's Office. Ambulances dispatched

An explosion hit the Beşyol region of the eastern province of Van on Monday morning, Doğan News Agency reported.

Ambulances have been dispatched to the scene of the blast.

Reports said the scene was close to the Van governor’s office and the provincial headquarters of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).

Quoting the local police, he added that initial reports suggested it was a car bomb attack.

AKP Van deputy Burhan Kayatürk said that 11 people had been injured in the attack with no immediate reports on casualties.

Kayatürk said the target of the blast was the AKP provincial headquarters.
