Egyptian coach of the Saudi Al-Ansar team Sherif Al-Khashab confirmed that his team will undertake a training camp in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on August 20 to prepare for the Saudi first class tournaments.
Al-Ansar had hired the Egyptian Al-Khashab to reclaim their football team to the Zain Saudi Professional League after its fall to the first class last season coming last with only 10 points.
Al-Khashab told Arabstoday that the training camp would be in one of the hotels in 6 October city and last for two weeks where the team will have four friendly matches.
Former Chad national team coach added that his team will play against Maqasa, Al-Moqawelon SC, Al-Nasr in addition to Enppi the title holder of the last Egyptian Cup.
Al-Khashab expressed his desire for stronger contact for Al-Ansar Saudi team with Egyptian class A teams like Enpi and Maqasa to raise the preparation level before the official class A Saudi games.
The coach clarified that he’s considering the request by the Itihad club for a friendly match before going to Cairo for the second preparation camp.
Al-Khashab lead his Saudi Al-Ansar team to win a friendly tournament held later where Al-Ansar, Al-Rabee Al-Watani, and Heraa participated within preparations for the class A competition which launches on September 12. Al-Ansar hired Egyptian coach Al-Khashab at the end of May for his expertise which he hopes will enable him to rise with the team once again to the professionals’ league.
The Saudi league contains a number of Egyptian coaches other than Khashab such as coach Basheer Abdel Samad training Al-Wehda club, coach Salah Al-Nahi training Al-Orouba, and Mohamed Salah training Al-Shola.
Al-Khashab was born in 1961, trained the Chad national team for two years in a row and lead the Egyptian Ghazl Al-Mahal successfully for several seasons in the Egyptian class A league.
