Israeli gunboats opened fire on Sunday at Palestinian vessels off the Gaza Strip shores

Israeli gunboats opened fire on Sunday at Palestinian vessels off the Gaza Strip shores, according to local sources.

No casualties were reported.

Local sources said Israeli forces stationed near the border line east Khan Yunis City, southern Gaza Strip, opened fire at the farmers and banned them from reaching their lands.

Also, Israeli occupants stationed near Kisufim military post opened fire at the border line in southern Deir el Balah city, in central Gaza, with no injuries reported.

In northwest Gaza, the Israeli occupants opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats, leaving one boat damaged and fishermen fled ashore.

Under the Oslo accord signed in 1993, fishing is allowed 20 miles off the enclave.

Yet, the Israeli gunboats attacked the Gazan fishermen at a six-mile distance, said the sources.

According to official figures, there are 3,500 fishermen in the Gaza Strip.
