Appeal before Israeli Supreme Court to set date for handing over bodies of 13 martyrs

Lawyers representing families of Palestinians killed by Israeli troops and settlers made an appeal on Thursday before the Supreme Court of Israel in order to force Israeli police to appoint a date to hand over the bodies of 13 Palestinians killed over alleged attempts to stab, run over or shoot Israelis.

The appeal asks the Supreme Court to oblige Israeli police and prosecution to set an immediate date to release the Palestinians' dead bodies in order to bury them, said Mohamed Mahmoud, a Palestinian lawyer.

The appeal came months after the procrastination of Israeli police and intelligence services to implement a previous resolution to hand the dead bodies over.
