Algerian tourism site

Minister of Tourism and Craft Industry Nouria Yamina Zerhouni underlined Thursday in Algiers the importance of partnership agreements with different international hotel chains to benefit from of their experiences in order to improve tourist services in Algeria.
During a plenary session of the Council of Nation (Upper House of Parliament) devoted to oral questions, the minister said that partnership with hotel chains is part of the sector's programme aiming at improving tourist services and make the most of their experiences in order to improve services, management and human resources qualification.
In this regard, Zerhouni said that 21 hotels so far have signed agreements with several international hotel chains, adding that this figure is expected to increase.
As regards support to investment in the sector of tourism, the minister recalled the measures taken to encourage tourist projects, adding that the 392 projects are underway and would allow the creation of over 45,000 beds while 30 other tourist projects with 2,713 beds have been delivered.
Development plans of 15 tourism extension zones have been adopted recently, while 20 provincial tourism development programmes have been drawn up.
