Al-Fasher Criminal Court, chaired by Judge Dr. Al-Saddiq Dhirar Mukhtar, has convicted three persons for committing robbery, theft and rape and sentenced them for three years in prison.
The convicts have attacked the UNAMID policewomen House (Rwanda mission) and looted money in foreign currency and as the second convict has raped a policewoman.
In a statement to SUNA, the Head of the Prosecution Office, Ali Karamalla Mursi, said that he and other two prosecutors of the Office of the General Prosecutor for Darfur Crimes, Makram Rizgalla Khalil, and Mohamed Haroun, assumed the verification and investigation in this case till completion of the file and bringing the defendants to justice and issuing the final verdict.
He noted that the Office of the Legal Affairs of the UNAMID had followed up the court hearing sittings.
Ali affirmed that due to seriousness of the case , the Office of the General Prosecutor of the Darfur Crimes assumed the case as the UNAMID came to achieve peace in Darfur and that any danger against it will affect the achievement of peace and security in the region.
