Sudan has called for speeding the implementation of the Security Arrangements Agreement between Sudan and the State of South Sudan, that was signed in Addis Ababa, in September 2012, in the frame work of the Matrix of the agreements between Khartoum and Juba .
The Rapporteur of the Joint Security Committee, Sudanese side, Dr. Al-Muez Faroug, told SUNA that Defense Minister, Lt. Gen. Abdul-Rahim Mohamed Hussein, received at his office Wednesday the Chairman of the African Union High-Level Implementation Mechanism, Thabo Mbeki, currently on a visit to Sudan, to discuss a number of issues including the reactivation the Security Arrangements Agreement signed by Khartoum and Juba.
He said that Lt. Gen. Hussein affirmed the necessity for speeding up the implementation of these agreements, the setting of the Zero Line prior at the joint border to opening of crossings, starting border trade exchange and the disarmed security in the joint borders .
He said that the Mbeki has informed the minister on the outcome of the talks he carried out in Khartoum before leaving to Juba to meet with the officials of the South Sudan State .
