The Consultative Council for Human Rights, chaired by the Minister of Justice, Mohamed Bushara Dosa, has affirmed Sudan full readiness to cooperate with all the UN mechanisms that are concerned with human rights.
The Consultative Council for Human Rights held a meeting on Thursday to discuss Sudan preparations for the 27th session of the Council for Human Rights in Geneva, which would discuss a report on the situation of human rights in Sudan.
The Minister of Justice stressed that the situation of human rights in Sudan is a model one if compared to that in many countries.
He said that it is normal that human rights violation happen at war-hit areas in Sudan, indicating that it is premature to talk about returning Sudan to Chapter (4) which relates to monitoring.
Dosa said that Sudan did not receive any technical support from the international community under Chapter (10) for enhancement of the human rights situation.
The minister has criticized nomination of a number of personalities for the position of the special rapporteur for human rights in Sudan, indicating that Sudan will object to accepting the nominations of these personalities on ground that the current special rapporteur did not yet present his report on human rights in Sudan before the Human Rights Council.
