Sudan has affirmed its keenness for the security and stability of Libya, stressing that Sudan has no interest to intervene in the internal Libyan affairs and also have no benefit in continuity of the state of instability in Libya.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sunday, Ambassador Yousif Al-Kordofani, reiterated Sudan keenness to maintain the firm fraternal relations between the two peoples.
He said that Sudan remained maintaining equal distance with all the disputing parties in Libya, adding that Sudan has affirmed its readiness to play the role of mediator to narrow the differences between the different Libyan factions and group, in response to outcome of the Conference of the Libyan Neighboring Countries which was held in Cairo by the end of last August.
Concerning the news reports on the Sudanese plane that landed at the Libyan Al-Kafra airport on September 5, 2014, Ambassador Al-Kordofani said that this plane remained making regular trips to supply the joint Sudanese - Libya forces with food materials and ammunition.
He indicated that the recent visit of the plane was a routine one and carried out at the request of the joint Sudanese - Libyan forces, adding that the Libyan co-commander of the joint forces, Col. Suleiman Hamid, has given permit to the Sudanese plane to land at Al-Kafra airport in presence of commanders of the Libyan National Army and chieftains of tribes.
Ambassador Al-Kordofani said that the plane has never been moving to Me'aitiqa airport and did not made emergency landing at Al-Kafra airport.
He said that the plane returned to Sudan after emptying its load, a matter which was confirmed by the commander of the joint Libyan forces, Col. Suleiman Hamid.
Regarding the reports circulated by some media on a call of Libya on Sudan to withdraw its Military Attache at Sudan Embassy in Tripoli, Ambassador Al-Kordofani pointed out that Sudan did not receive any call in this regard from the Libyan authorities, Foreign Ministry or the Libyan Embassy in Khartoum.
