President Abdel Fattah El Sisi ordered all bodies concerned to take develop a comprehensive plan for building new Rafah city to be an integrated urban community to achieve sustainable development for the people of Rafah.
"The president ordered speedy financial assistance for those who were affected by the redistribution of the population of Rafah," Presidential Spokesman Alaa Yousef said.
Families along the country's eastern border with the Gaza Strip are being evacuated, as part of an operation to set up a buffer zone to stop infiltration and weapons trafficking.
