President Abdel Fattah El Sisi laid on Wednesday a wreath at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the October war victory.
Upon arrival, Sisi was welcomed by Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi, Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazi and commanders of the various military branches.
The military band played the national anthem.
The president also laid a wreath at the tomb of former president Anwar al Sadat and shook hands with a number of his family members.
The President later headed for Kobri el Qoba's Gamal Abdel Nasser Mosque where the late Egyptian leader is buried and laid wreaths at his tomb.
He also chatted with a number of Abdel Nasser's family members.
