President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday issued a decree giving Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (EJUST) the legal personality as an independent entity with legal capacity.
The decree stipulates the university is a public education body under the Egyptian law.
An agreement was concluded between Egypt and Japan in 2009 to establish the university, the presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
