Algiers - APS
The upcoming launch of an inter-Libyan inclusive dialogue to achieve a final solution to the internal crisis in Libya was at the centre of the activities of the Algerian diplomacy in consultation with the representatives of the international community and neighboring countries, during the 69th Ordinary Session of the UN General Assembly.
In this context, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ramtane Lamamra, who recalled the rejection of any foreign military intervention, participated in a ministerial meeting of Libya’s neighboring countries. The meeting was an occasion to assess the progress of the work done since the establishment of this group last May on the initiative of Algeria, on the sidelines of the Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Lamamra who reviewed the ongoing preparations for the dialogue between the Libyan protagonists, outlined Algeria’s vision concerning the interaction between the group of Libya’s neighboring countries and other international partners expected to contribute to the international mediation effort.
Regarding the "complexity of the ground realities and the balance of power between the parties involved", the participants emphasized the need to "adjust the initiatives and ensure the required efficiency."
So, Lamamra expressed Algeria’s commitment to resolving the complex crisis in Libya, being mobilized to help Libya to take the path of salvation and reconstruction of its institutions.
