Security in Gharbiya

Security measures have been tightened outside all vital facilities and institutions in Gharbiya governorate, north of Cairo, security chief Osama Bedir said Friday.
Checkpoints were erected in the entrances and exits of the governorate and squares in anticipation of any protests that could be staged by the banned Muslim Brotherhood group, he added.
Security was also beefed up around police stations, railways, and electricity pylons, he said.
Bedir stressed that any violations will be dealt with strictly.
