Explosives experts carried out a controlled detonation on two explosive devices in Sheikh Zuweid, North Sinai, on Thursday.
No casualties or damage were reported, security sources said.
The two charges were planted in two separate sites to target security forces, the sources said.
The first explosive device was planted in Karm el Qawadise area in Sheikh Zuweid.
The second one was hidden behind Sheikh Zuweid police station.
The bomb squad is combing both areas in search for any more hidden explosives.
