President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Saturday with Supply and Internal Trade Minister Khaled Hanafy, presidential spokesman Ihab Badawi said.
The meeting tackled the outcome of the minister's visit to the United States, the spokesman added.
The president followed up the progress of cooperation with Bloomberg international company to establish advanced barns in Egypt with the aim of preserving crops and reducing losses.
During the meeting, the supply minister reviewed his meetings with a number of Egyptian community members in the US, the spokesman noted.
The minister said that a number of Egyptians in the US expressed their desire to invest in Egypt and to take part in the development process.
Badawi added that the president directed the minister to outline a concept of ways through which Egyptians abroad can take part in the national projects at home.
