Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Cairo Governor Galal Said inspected Sunday downtown Cairo and nearby streets after street vendors were moved to their new booths in Torgoman garage center.
"Many Egyptians are satisfied with the decision," the prime minister said.
Downtown street vendors now got a new location after each was granted a booth at Torgoman Garage in Boulaq Abul-Ela.
Security was beefed up in downtown Cairo as authorities began measures to move vendors off streets.
