Gaza Strip

The Palestinian Cabinet announced on Tuesday full support for a popular campaign against the separation of the Gaza Strip.

"This campaign seeks maintaining the unity of the Palestinian people and territories," the Cabinet said at its weekly session under Premier Rami Hamdallah.

The Cabinet also called on Israel to stop its settlement activities and end its occupation of the Palestinian territories as soon as possible.

It also reiterated rejection of all Israeli attempts to separate the Gaza Strip and turn the West Bank into ghettos for the Palestinian people.

It further called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards the Palestinian people and help Palestine gain full membership in the UN.

Also, the Cabinet criticized Israel for demolishing 15 Palestinian homes and displacing Palestinian Bedouins from the area around al-Quds city.
