The Deputy Chairman of the National Election Commission (NEC) , Abdulla Ahmed Mahdi has announced that the NEC has finalized the setting up of the High and States' Election Committees, adding that the state expressed full readiness to fulfill its commitment concerning the provision of all the requirements of the election process .
The NEC official said in a joint meeting held in the Guest House, in Medani with the Deputy Wali (governor) of Gezira State, Azhri Khalfalla in the presence of the Chairman of the State's Commission that the Election Law highlighted the role of the political parties as a genuine partners in the election process scheduled to be carried out under the supervision of the Commission .
He confirmed the holding of the general elections in the fixed time , adding that there is no reason for the postponement of elections .
