A programme to develop the capabilities of executive government leaders was launched with the blessings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

The Diwan of Royal Court, represented by the Institute of Capability Development, announced the opening of registration for the National Leadership Development Programme. 

The programme will target Director Generals, Assistant Director Generals, Advisors, Experts and their equivalents.

Participation in the programme is open to all government entities and selection will be based on merit rather than nomination. Those interested will have to apply for the programme at 

The national initiative is designed to use best in class learning methodologies to equip executive government leaders with the tools, and knowledge and skills to boost Oman's competitiveness and ensure its prosperity for the future.

"This programme is the initiative of the Public Private Partnership Taskforce (Sharaka) and is part of the efforts to build a community of leaders in both sectors as a manifestation of one of its strategic pillars to build national capabilities," said Dr. Ali Qassim Al Lawati, Advisor for studies and research at the Diwan of Royal Court.

Applications are open from May 14 to May 27, 2017.
