Suez police have arrested a member of a "Hasm" movement affiliated with the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group.
Hassan el-Husseini Abul-Einain is accused of setting a number of police vehicles ablaze and attacking security troops in the Canal city.
A security source said Monday Abul-Einain not only took part in acts of violence but masterminded them.
Abul-Einain admitted he was receiving finances from the Muslim Brotherhood to conduct the attacks.
An arrest warrant had been issued for Abul-Einain.
