Outgoing Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki called the concerned authorities to provide all the appropriate ways to support the people of Amerli militarily and meet all their humanitarian needs.
A statement by his office cited that: "Maliki received a group of (Mujahideen) who have just come from Amerli with a number of members of the provincial council in Salahuddin, and discussed with them the conditions of Amerli, especially the humanitarian situation where all the circumstances of the city and its stand against terrorism."
