The Libyan Army killed on Wednesday 18 militants in Benghazi city, Spokesman for the Operation Dignity Mohamed Hegazi said.
He added that the army took over a major military camp of a militant group known as February 17.
Hegazi said the Libyan army stepped up offensive against terrorists to "liberate" Benghazi.
The oil-rich North African nation has been gripped by turmoil since the 2011 uprising.
