Former Lebanese President Michel Suleiman

Former Lebanese President Michel Suleiman voiced thanks on Wednesday to Saudi Arabia over a multimillion-dollar grant to Lebanese Army.
The ex-president, who commanded the armed forces from 1998 to 2008, made the remarks in a phone call with Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz on Wednesday.
Also, King Abdullah renewed support to Muslims and Christians in Lebanon to maintain unity of the Arab county.
Earlier on Wednesday, France and Saudi Arabia have signed a $3 billion deal to provide the Lebanese army with French weapons.
During their talks, Suleiman expressed sorrow for extension of parliament mandate until June 2017 amid a boycott from the "Free Patriotic Movement" (FPM) and the Kataeb party.
