Foreign Affairs Minister Ramtane Lamamra, on official visit to Canada, highlighted the efforts of the Algerian governments towards the national community abroad particularly in terms of facilitating procedures relating to consular protection and management.
The minister, who met at the Algerian Embassy in Ottawa with the members of the Algerian community, underlined the “major improvements” brought recently to the operation of issuing the biometric passport, particularly those relating to birth certificate 12S and the implementation of mobile stations of biometric registration for the nationals in the remote regions of Canada.
Lamamra underlined the “good integration” of the Algerian community in this country and its “attachment” to Algeria.
Speaking to an audience made of professors, experts and representatives of associations, Lamamra, who insisted on the importance of dialogue and consultation, encouraged the members of the community to “take an active part” in the development efforts undertaken in Algeria in various fields of activities.
Lamamra said that the Algerian community in Canada, owing to its “strong attachment” to the country and its success in its host country, “is a significant human bridge between the two countries and encourages the promotion of our culture and values.”
