Ankara - KUNA
Kuwaiti nationals in Turkey are safe and there are no record of them being harmed by the recent unrest between Turkish police and Kurdish demonstrators, said Ambassador of Kuwait to Ankara Abdullah Al-Thuwaikh Wednesday.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Thuwaikh said that there were no Kuwaitis harmed in the recent acts of unrest in Turkey, noting that Kuwaiti nationals should steer clear from areas where demonstrations are being held.
The Embassy did not receive any orders to evacuate Kuwaiti nationals in Turkey, however, if necessary this action will be taken, said the Ambassador, adding that in case of emergency situations, Kuwaitis should contact the diplomatic mission in Ankara.
Scores of people were killed in demonstrations supporting the Kurdish forces who are battling against the advance of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants in the city of Ain Al-Arab, or Kobane, in northern Syria.
